Fund a Need: GlideScope, Cost = $12,000, As one of BC's primary COVID-19 sites, Royal Columbian Hospital cares for some of our most ritically ill patients. The hospital is also recognized widely for its cardiac, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity and neonatal intensive care programs. As many as one-third of British Columbians rely on Royal Columbian for life-saving care. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation has focused its efforts on ensuring the hospital and its care providers have the resources and support they need. The core of this charity's work remains medical equipment and technology. In recent weeks, investments include equipment to make intubation, surgeries, and communications safer for medical teams and patients. The GlideScope plays a critical role in respiratory support. With a high-definition monitor, it provides improved visibility during interventions to facilitate resuscitation and life-support in emergency situations. This GlidesScope will allow our trauma and anesthesiology teams to safely intubate COVID-19 and Trauma patients and will be a vital piece of equipment at Royal Columbian Hospital for years to come. Please help us raise funds to ensure this life-saving piece of equipment is available to all of our healthcare professionals who manage airway access in our sickest patients. Donations will qualify for a tax receipt issued by Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation. Contact donna.macintosh2@fraserhealth.ca for more information.
